New Framing Projects

Garden room in Bury St. Edmunds

This two bay garden room is similar to the one we built in Yorkshire and was the starting point for our design after the clients identified this as one they admired. It uses the dragon braced assembly in the corners beneath the hipped roof for extra rigidity as well as providing some drama to the space. The frame was worked up in Sketchup by Sally and then revised once an architect had been appointed (Philip Conway from Essex who we have worked with several times). For the first time we not only planed the timbers but raised the frame pre-waxed so we had to keep everything clean and hope for good weather!
